ABOUT US

Chess on Stamps

Sarah Perelli-Minetti is the webmaster and founder of TOS.  The inspiration for Topicals on Stamps came when I could not find a one-stop place on the web several years ago for topical or thematic stamp collectors.  Therefore, I decided to create a place where I could gather together collections of all types and display them by topic.  I now have over 125 topics covering diverse collector pages and organizations, plus various resources.   Check back often as the site is ever changing and growing with collector needs.  Take advantage of the resources for building your collection.  While you are here also shop for items at Ebay and other affiliates including Amazon and Barnes and Noble web site -- listening to music while browsing the Internet and working on your stamp collection adds to the enjoyment greatly.

I passed my second exam, my CIW Site Design test, and now have my CIW Masters.  As a class web site on an easy to grow vegetable called chard.  Feel free to check it out.   I have now created my first professional web site for a local writer and author, Camille Gavin

I have also created a homepage for grape and wine stamps -- featuring stamps and first day covers on vinticulture, plus links to vineyards, wineries and stamp resources.  check out the beautiful wine racks for sale.

Besides stamp collecting I enjoy swimming and snorkeling, walking, gardening, (I am in the process of planning a gardening web site), traveling to places here and far with my dad.  I also enjoy evenings with my friends, playing canasta, listening to music and cooking.

Paul Schmidt (computer tech) has worked with computer for many years now in Bakersfield as well as Southern California where he attended college at Long Beach State.  He tinkered on computers since childhood as his father always had computers and spare computer parts around the house.  His father, Lee, is a  "compusaurus".  Over the years Paul  has worked as a computer consultant in my father's medical practice as well as on our home computers.  He enjoys science fiction, TV, movies, computers, computer games and reading.  Check out his web site for their family business, Mark 70.

I am a member of KIPUG, the Kern Independent PC Users Group.  We hold monthly meetings here in the Bakersfield area for computer users, novice and advanced.  We bring in speakers from software and hardware companies.  Recently we had a representative from Wild File demonstrate the new Go Back data recovery program. We have local members give "how to" demonstrations in their specialized areas, such as scanning, networking, etc.  I have learned many valuable lessons and quick tricks through the years with this group.
